Murder, most likely. For him, at least.

"I steal secrets. I'm the fear of things being stolen. Of things getting thrown into the light that people don't wish others to know. The affairs, the little lies, the locations to fortunes. I know them all. Sometimes I even steal hope."

Murder is Thom's brother's realm.

"No wonder people're scared of you."

He'd be scared, too, if he weren't a shadow monster himself. And tomorrow, when he goes back to normal, he very likely will be scared.

Oh yes, Ginsberg, you have some secrets you wouldn't like known would you? Of course everyone does. Which is why he exists.

"Exactly. Though they tend to fear my brother more. After all, I only steal hope. He can kill it."

"Your brother and I might get along."

Or they might try to kill each other. Two murderous shadow monsters might not get along well at all.

Surprisingly Death's Shadow is a bit of a fop and not exactly murderous so much as targeted murderer. An assassin.

"I think he'd like you. Though he'd probably try to give you a bit more direction in your targets."

"Am I not directed enough?"

That's probably a fair critique, actually. He kills when he wants to, or when the mood strikes him. He causes harm indiscriminately. It's not targeted so much as taking advantage when it seems like a good idea.

"A bit too direct. He'd want you to let them suffer and to pick your victims a bit more carefully."

He's young and flush with power in need of refinement.
